Cincinnati is a bustling Ohio town and is full
of adventure and things to do. By far, for families living within
an 180 mile radius, Kings Island is the best reason to visit
Cincinnati. It can be thought of as the next best amusement park,
Florida's Disney Land being the first. The children's playground is
not in the city but is north. To get there, take I-71 for another
24 miles.
What is its thrill? Giant roller coasters and other rides for the
children. This is the number one attraction for Cincinnati, even
though it is only nearby, not within city limits. Most families opt
for a family weekend in Cincinnati, and drive the next day to the
park. After an exhausting day, a night in a comfortable motel or
hotel room with church on Sunday morning in a different atmosphere,
and a leisurely drive home in the afternoon, will have been time
well spent.
Other attractions are The Carew Tower, an at home ball game with
the Reds, The Newport Auditorium, Krohn Conservatory, Showboat
Magic, The Cincinnati Zoo, The BB Riverboats, and last of the ten
best things to do while in this city, the Cincinnati Art Museum.
The Carew Tower is a tall building and a city landmark that houses
the Netherland Plaza Hotel. Their claim to fame, other than a state
of the art hotel with expert sleeping and dining facilities, is the
architecture, which is French Art Deco.
The Newport Aquarium is across the Ohio River at Newport Kentucky.
It is counted fourth in the most visited site. The Krohn
Conservatory is a botanical garden of delights located in Eden
Park. It has been in existence since 1933 and is another Art Deco
design. The remaining highlights of Cincinnati concern ball
playing, showboats on the Ohio River, and a fabulous Zoo. At the
Zoo, operas are often performed at the amphitheater in the summer.
Those are not make-shift student affairs but are professional
performances.
